Marlene Dietrich was a German born actress that lived from 1901 to 1992. She remained popular throughout her career by continually reinventing herself. She quickly became a fashion icon to top designers.

She once said, "I dress for myself. Not for the image, not for the public, not for the fashion, not for men."
